The Urban Institute released a study last week, which details the experiences of 283 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youths engaging in survival sex. The study covers a range of topics, from abusive home environments that force youth to live on the streets to the characteristics of commercial sex. While this study exposes a marginalized sector of an already oppressed group, it also sheds light on how organizations who are actively involved in ending sex trafficking may not be fully committed to the well-being of vulnerable youth.
