Overview
The LGBTQ Institute is pleased to host our third annual symposium presented by Delta Air Lines.
The symposium will explore tangible ways to create equity for transgender people in housing, employment and healthcare. Using our most recent data from our Southern Survey and research from the field, we will provide space and engage transgender leaders and community members to dialogue and determine next steps.
This interactive symposium will be an ideal time for networking among academics and advocates, helping enhance coordination and communication to maximize impact.
The symposium will take place on Saturday, May 11th, at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in an on-going, interactive, working plenary session. Presentations will explore the dynamics and systems operating in relation to transgender communities and equity in housing, employment, and healthcare.
Many of the conversations will also touch upon LGBTQIA experiences and issues in relation to racial and economic justice, class, immigration and citizenship, age and aging, ability and disability, incarceration, and other categories.
We look forward to learning and connecting with you!
